Let’s Set Goals {November}

Let's Set Goals November 2021 Jill Kemerer

My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that will work within my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible…

How the Week is Going

How the week is going (and book trailer!) Jill Kemerer

Well, it’s Monday as I write this, and I already feel overwhelmed. My grocery order had some surprises I hadn’t anticipated. The fruit flies are out in force, and spiders are making their way into my home because they know winter is coming. I hate spiders.

When I look at my planner for this week, I swallow and it’s more like a gulp.

A tight knot is growing between my shoulders. That’s how the week is going.

The Right Idea for the Wrong Book

The Right Idea for the Wrong Book by Jill Kemerer

Last week I was coming up with plot ideas, and the perfect one came to me. I was so excited! The book I'm plotting is pretty murky at this point, so my soul did a little sideline cheer when the idea hit. Since this is a story toward the end…

Every Word Written is a Small Success

Every Word Written is a Small Success. Writing Tips. Jill Kemerer

When you’re in the middle of writing a book, it’s easy to get discouraged. You might not be sure what’s supposed to happen next. You certainly can’t remember what happened two chapters ago. The main characters you thought you knew so well seem wobbly, like you don’t know them at all.

Sit down.

Write something.

Anything. Even if it’s ten words. Five.

Every word written is a small success.

A Huge Milestone Thanks to You!

Huge Milestone Jill Kemerer

I recently went through my latest royalty statements. For those of you who aren’t in the publishing industry, royalty statements are a breakdown of the sales of your books. I always print them out, review them and add up my total sales (this includes the sales of all my previous books).

I’m thrilled to share that over half a million of my books have sold worldwide! All thanks to you!

Thank you for reading my books, reviewing them, recommending them to friends, for subscribing to my newsletter and for reading this blog. I am honored that you take the time to stop by. I know you’re busy!

Decisions, Decisions…Writer Priorities

Decisions, decisions...writer priorities by Jill Kemerer

Last Friday I spent some time with my planner to figure out my writer priorities. I wasn't sure what I wanted to focus on--drafting the rest of the Love Inspired book due in November, working on promo items for my release in October, or drafting more of my nonfiction book…
