Let’s Set October 2025 Goals
My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly writer goals, and it’s time to share my October goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that fit my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible.
Every month I share how I did the previous month as well as what my new goals are. Let’s get to it!
I didn’t post my September goals, so I’ll go through my August ones instead.
How Did I Do? JILL’S AUGUST 2025 GOALS
WRITING:
- Set up promotion for Creating a Writing Life (September 3, 2025). Check!
- Expand plot, write long synopsis and first three chapters for Wyoming Inheritance book 4. Check!
- Continue writing the first draft of Wyoming Inheritance book 4. No Check
HEALTH:
- Eat low calorie, high protein foods on weekdays. Check!
- Exercise for 20-45 minutes every weekday morning. Check!
- Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, a short YouTube workout, etc. No Check
PERSONAL:
- Soak in the sun in my backyard as often as possible. Check!
- Go to a local farmer’s market. No check
- Take half a day during the week to do something fun like visit the Zoo or the art museum. No Check
August got away from me. I met my most important goals, but others slipped through my fingers. I buckled down in September and wrote the first draft of book 3 in my Wyoming Inheritance series, and I’m revising it as we speak.
As for my health, I continue eating lower carb and exercising every weekday. The scale isn’t budging. Oh well.
We did a lot of fun things in August and September. My husband and I were able to spend time with both our extended families, and we went to a Detroit Tigers game. I’m throwing away stuff I don’t use and donating old clothes. Oh, and I got my fall decorations out. Winning!

JILL’S OCTOBER 2025 GOALS
WRITING:
- Finish setting up promotion for The Rancher’s Mistletoe Baby (October 28, 2025)
- Finish revising Wyoming Inheritance book 3
- Continue writing the first draft of Wyoming Inheritance book 4
HEALTH:
- Eat low calorie, high protein foods on weekdays.
- Exercise for 20-45 minutes every weekday morning.
- Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, a short YouTube workout, etc.
PERSONAL:
- Go on a long hike at a local park to see fall colors
- Have a bonfire
- Read a romance novel by a new-to-me author
Pretty soon the holidays will be here, so I want to make the most of autumn while I can. I have big writing goals for the next couple of months. I’ll be praying God will help me stay motivated through the long days.
