Let’s Set May 2026 Goals!
My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly writer goals, and it’s time to share my May 2026 goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that fit my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible.
Every month I share how I did the previous month as well as what my new goals are. Let’s get to it!
HOW DID I DO? JILL’S APRIL 2026 GOALS
WRITING:
- Revise contracted Love Inspired novel. Check!
- Set up promotion for The Rancher’s Unlikely Match. Check!
- Work on trade-length novel for 1 hour at a time 3 days/week. No check.
HEALTH:
- Come up with a list of high-protein breakfasts and lunches. Check!
- Exercise for 20-45 minutes every weekday morning. Check!
- Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, mobility exercises, etc. Check!
PERSONAL:
- Do a jigsaw puzzle. Check!
- Have one adventure in the Toledo area. Check!
- Finish watching The Hobbit trilogy. No check.
I didn’t nail all my goals, but I met most of them. Only one week went by without me working for 1 hour 3 days/week on my trade-length novel. It felt really good to get words on the page. And while I’m not where I want to be health-wise, I’m doing something about it. We did watch most of part 2 of the Hobbit trilogy. I’ll finish it eventually!
