Let’s Set March 2024 Goals

My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly writer goals, and it’s time to share my March 2024 goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that fit my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible.

Every month I share how I did the previous month as well as what my new goals are. Let’s get to it!

How Did I Do? Jill’s February Goals

  • Writing
  • Finish the first draft of book 5 in my Wyoming Legacies series. CHECK!
  • Complete two rounds of revisions for book 5. CHECK!
  • Final edits for Wyoming Legacies book 4. CHECK!
  • Create promo materials for United by the Twins, releasing 02/20/24! CHECK!
  • Work on nonfiction project (revising) for 15 minutes, three nights/ week. CHECK!
  • Continue writing a side project for 15 minutes two nights/week. NO CHECK.
  • *You’ll notice I’ve added night sessions for two projects. This is due to my part-time job. It was either shelve these projects for months or work at night. I want them done!*
  • Health
  • Exercise 5 days/week with more difficult sessions 3 of the days. NO CHECK
  • Continue healthy eating with few processed carbs. CHECK!
  • Personal
  • Read 15 minutes of fiction every weekday. CHECK!
  • Catch up on season 2 of The Way Home. It’s a drama on the Hallmark Channel. I really enjoyed the first season, and I have the first couple of episodes for season 2 recorded. CHECK!

My writing goals went really well. The only goal I didn’t meet was the side project, and that was because my agent and I discussed the proposal, and I made some tweaks to the plot. As far as my health, I felt a little off for a few weeks. I modified my workouts and skipped a few of the harder ones. Sometimes we have to listen to our bodies.

I’m really enjoying this season of The Way Home. I can get lazy about watching TV. Sounds strange, right? I tend to read articles on my phone or scroll through Instagram when tired/bored. So investing in this series has been a nice change of pace.

Jill’s March Goals

  • Writing
  • Polish/submit book 5 in my Wyoming Legacies series.
  • Plot and write sample chapters for book 6 in Wyoming Legacies series.
  • Continue exploring ideas for next Love Inspired series.
  • Polish nonfiction project.
  • Continue writing a side project for 15 minutes two nights/week.
  • Health
  • Exercise 5 days/week with more difficult sessions 3 of the days.
  • Continue healthy eating with few processed carbs.
  • Personal
  • Read 15 minutes of fiction every weekday.
  • Continue watching season 2 of The Way Home.
  • Work on crochet project–even if I only add one row!

It will be another busy month of writing, and I’m excited about it! With the promise of spring around the corner, I’ll be motivated to keep working out and eating healthy. I’m really looking forward to summer produce. I tend to feel “stuck” with the same old fruits and veggies this time of year.

What about you? Did you meet your February Goals? What do you want to accomplish in March?
