Let’s Set February 2024 Goals

My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly writer goals, and it’s time to share my February 2024 goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that fit my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible.

Every month I share how I did the previous month as well as what my new goals are. Let’s get to it!

How Did I Do? Jill’s January Goals

  • Writing
  • Revise and submit December’s proposal. CHECK!
  • Start writing book 5 in my Wyoming Legacies series. CHECK!
  • Continue revising nonfiction book 15 minutes most weeknights. CHECK!
  • Health
  • Exercise 5 days/week with more difficult sessions 3 of the days. CHECK!
  • Continue healthy eating with few processed carbs. NO CHECK
  • Personal
  • Read 15 minutes of fiction every weekday. NO CHECK
  • Visit the Toledo Art Museum. NO CHECK
  • Start a new jigsaw puzzle. CHECK

January was dreary and busy…and dreary and busy. I barely had the energy to crash on the couch for a few hours before bed. I ended up working VERY long hours. I’m sure this contributed to me not meeting my healthy-eating goal. I skimped on the fresh fruits/veggies and went for the chips. Not good.

My personal goals were easily doable–except they weren’t. My brain was too fried to read much, and I spent my reading time finishing a nonfiction book. I’m postponing the Toledo Art Museum until I have a week where I can safely take off an entire afternoon. The jigsaw puzzle made me happy. I have another one ready to get started. 🙂

Jill’s February Goals

  • Writing
  • Finish the first draft of book 5 in my Wyoming Legacies series.
  • Complete two rounds of revisions for book 5.
  • Final edits for Wyoming Legacies book 4.
  • Create promo materials for United by the Twins, releasing 02/20/24!
  • Work on nonfiction project (revising) for 15 minutes, three nights/ week.
  • Continue writing a side project for 15 minutes two nights/week.
  • *You’ll notice I’ve added night sessions for two projects. This is due to my part-time job. It was either shelve these projects for months or work at night. I want them done!*
  • Health
  • Exercise 5 days/week with more difficult sessions 3 of the days.
  • Continue healthy eating with few processed carbs.
  • Personal
  • Read 15 minutes of fiction every weekday.
  • Catch up on season 2 of The Way Home. It’s a drama on the Hallmark Channel. I really enjoyed the first season, and I have the first couple of episodes for season 2 recorded.

It’s going to be another busy writing month, so I’m keeping the personal goals very light.

What about you? Did you meet your January Goals? What do you want to accomplish in February?
