Let’s Set December 2025 Goals!
My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly writer goals, and it’s time to share my December goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that fit my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible.
Every month I share how I did the previous month as well as what my new goals are. Let’s get to it!
HOW DID I DO? JILL’S NOVEMBER 2025 GOALS
WRITING:
- Finish writing the first draft of Wyoming Inheritance book 4. CHECK!
- Outline a new marketing plan for my books starting in 2026. NO CHECK.
HEALTH:
- Continue eating lower carb, whole foods w/emphasis on high protein during the week. CHECK!
- Exercise for 20-45 minutes every weekday morning. CHECK!
- Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, mobility exercises, etc. CHECK!
PERSONAL:
- Watch a made-for-television Christmas movie. CHECK!
- Decorate for Christmas. CHECK!
- Have one local adventure–visit the art museum or check out a special holiday event! NO CHECK.
I ended up swapping one of my writing goals for a different goal, and I’m glad I did. Next year, I’ll be working on the proposal for another multi-book series through Love Inspired, and I got a head start on gathering ideas for each book. I’ll work on the marketing strategy this month.
The health goals were doable this month, with the exception of Thanksgiving weekend. I’m fine with that. Have to live a little, you know? But I’m back in my routine now and will stay that way until later this month when all the holiday parties begin.
I still struggle to carve out time for little adventures. Would it have been hard for me to go to the art museum or a special event? No. But did I do it? No. I might have to put things on the calendar next year.

JILL’S DECEMBER 2025 GOALS
WRITING:
- Draft the proposal for a trade-length book
- Outline a new marketing plan for my books starting in 2026
HEALTH:
- Continue eating lower carb, whole foods w/emphasis on high protein during the week
- Exercise for 20-45 minutes every weekday morning
- Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, mobility exercises, etc.
PERSONAL:
- Finish Christmas shopping and wrap all the gifts while listening to Christmas music
- Make a list of books I want to read next year, including nonfiction and classics. It doesn’t have to be complete.
- Have one local adventure–visit the art museum or check out a special holiday event!
It will be hard to meet my writing goals this month. I don’t know how far I’ll get. But I’m going to give it my all! My health goals are only for when we aren’t hosting family or traveling for Christmas events. I can handle that. And the personal goals? I think I’ve got them this month!
What goals do you have for December? I’d love to hear them!
Have a very Merry Christmas!
Latest Release:

My November goals included final edits on my Irish Steerage book, and those are coming along nicely. I should be able to submit it in January, yay. I didn’t get any work done on my Christmas romance for next year, but one out of two isn’t bad. One of my goals was to be on blogs, and I was on several in November. My writing goals are being met, even in December.
Health: I’m eating better, up to two salads a week. Was walking, now too cold. Got to work on that.
Did do some deep cleaning at house, mostly because I had to move things for Christmas.
My goals for December are:
writing — finish edits on the Irish book and start edits on the Christmas one. The draft is done, but it needs a lot of work post-draft.
writing — start entering contests for this year’s book.
writing — learn more about marketing if I’m going to keep doing this.
Health — Get back to walking. Continue to eat better. Christmas doesn’t bother me because I eat the same way all year round. Exercise is needed.
House — Continue to chip away at the clutter.
Thanks Jill, talk to you in the New Year.
