Let’s Set May 2025 Goals

My writer productivity skyrockets when I set monthly writer goals, and it’s time to share my May goals. At the beginning of each week I break them down into daily tasks that fit my current schedule. Do you know how great it is to finish projects? Of course you do! For me, setting monthly goals makes it all possible.

Every month I share how I did the previous month as well as what my new goals are. Let’s get to it!

Jill’s April 2025 Goals

WRITING:

  • Finish the draft of a new Love Inspired manuscript. Revise and submit it. CHECK!

HEALTH:

  • Track my food on weekdays. NO CHECK.
  • Adjust macros (carbs, protein, fat) as needed. NO CHECK.
  • Exercise for 20-30 minutes every weekday morning. CHECK!
  • Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, a short YouTube workout, etc. NO CHECK.

PERSONAL:

  • Walk outside as much as possible. CHECK!
  • Watch the Michigan Spring Football Game on television and make fun snacks for it. CHECK!
  • Have dinner with friends. CHECK!
  • Read 2 books. CHECK!

April was really busy. I managed to meet my writing and personal goals, but the health goals took a hit. That’s okay, I ended up losing a little weight even after missing a few days of tracking and mini-workouts.

This squirrel ate its way through the side of the feeder/house! His fluffy tail is sticking out of the feeder portion. I love my backyard.

Jill’s May 2025 Goals

WRITING:

  • Finish working through copy edits for Creating a Writing Life, a nonfiction book I’ll be publishing in 2025

HEALTH:

  • Eat low calorie, high protein foods on weekdays.
  • Exercise for 20-45 minutes every weekday morning. (I’m doing Heather Robertson‘s 5.0 12-week workout on M, W, F’s and each session is right around 40 minutes.)
  • Mini-workouts at least 5 evenings a week–a 10 minute walk, or 15 minutes on the stationary bike, a short YouTube workout, etc.

PERSONAL:

  • Walk outside as much as possible.
  • Continue identifying new birds in our backyard (we had a mockingbird stop by and an Eastern Towhee for a few weeks).
  • Read 2 books.
  • Get rid of old clothes I no longer wear.

I have a lot on my plate in May, so I’m keeping my goals doable. I’m ready to enjoy warmer weather!

I’d love to hear your goals for May! Any challenges? Wins? Let me know!
