{Friday Five} Music and Candy

This week I worked through the final edits of my June 2017 release, watched the election coverage and got a nasty migraine. I turned to music and candy often!

Music and candy. My Friday Five.

1. “These are the Days” by Jamie Cullum. I love this song and the entire album. I’ve played it many times over the years. It’s a mix of jaunty optimism and reality. So good!

2. Bottlecaps. Soda flavored sugary candies? Necessary when I have a migraine. Nothing tastes right, and I get nauseous, so I’m thankful that Bottlecaps always taste great even with a headache.

3. “More of You” by Colton Dixon. Love this song. It’s a few years old, but the message speaks to me today. This contemporary Christian song has such powerful lyrics. More of you, less of me? Yes, please!

4. Peanut M&Ms. Shocking, I know, but I’ve been working my way through a huge bag of these little delights. Do I feel guilty. Nope. I love them!

5. Peppermint Trident. I’m not a big fan of spearmint or the really intense mint flavors of gum. I really like straight up peppermint. Mmm-mmm!

What’s your favorite candy? Any songs you’re listening to this week?

Have a terrific weekend!!

  1. Congrats on getting through your edits! I know what a pain they can be.

My favorite candy, if I had to pick one thing, dark chocolate almond hershey bar or, if we go old school candies, lemon heads.

Currently, I’ve been listening to a lot of Lindsey Stirling. She is my jam when I’m writing. 🙂 Have a great weekend Jill!

  2. I like plain, ol’ chocolate like a Hershey Kisses. When I was little, my dad would bring a bag of them home as a treat. He called them Silver Bells. I rarely listen to music when I’m working. I find it distracting and if a song has lyrics, I’m apt to write words that don’t belong. In the car, I usually listen to classical music.

  3. My fav candy is Milky Way caramels. Yummy to my tummy! This week, I am listening to Christmas music. Yes, I am one of those people who start listening early. Actually, the Christmas music has been playing at our home for a couple of months. 🙂
